Heaven, hell, and Santa Claus

The boys were in the kitchen eating their snack after dinner and I was in the other room listening in...here is what I heard:
(Aiden says something about Christmas I didn’t hear)
Cason: No, Christmas is about Jesus being born and how we’re all happy about that.
(More conversation I don’t hear about who watches over us)
Aiden: No, angels watch down on us
Cason: Yeah, (in a “duh” voice)…God’s angels… and if you’re bad you go to that dungeon place that God locks you up in.
Aiden: No..I don’t think that is what it’s called
Cason: Yeah, it’s a dark dungeon I’m sure
Aiden: Ok, and if your good you go to heaven with God…where it’s happy
Cason: Aiden, does that say tootsie pop?
Both: Start singing “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”

Oh to be in the mind of a child!  LOL

For Naughty or Nice

Last night at dinner Teddy and I were bantering back and forth and teasing one another.  Cason said, "Mom, Dad is being pretty naughty...maybe you should just break up with him."
Teddy: "What did you say?"
Cason: "You're pretty naughy, dad...mom should just break up with you."
Me: "Cason, when you marry someone you make a promise to God that you'll stay with them forever...even when they are naughty.  That means even if Dad is naughty, I can't break up with him."
Teddy: "Oh, gee...thanks!"

Ok...I don't look THAT old!

While waiting in the hallway for Aiden's class to let out for the day, Cason saw one of his friends heading into the office...
Cason: Hi Logan!
Logan: Hey
Cason: Logan, this is my baby brother, Grayson...and this is my mom...NOT my Grandma...
All the parents standing around waiting for their kids: *LAUGHTER*
Me: Thanks for the clarification, Cason...I'm sure everyone was wondering if I was your mom or your grandma!

Do I look like I was born yesterday?

When the boys are home sick from school I let them play the Wii while sitting on the couch...gone are the days when I was thrilled with a new coloring book!  Cason was up most of the night coughing and looking miserable and he slept in this morning, which for him is a miracle!  When I asked him how he felt this morning he told me he felt good and he wanted to go to school...but after awhile his little brain hatched a plan and he came up to me all pitiful and sad and said "Mom, I'm not really sure if I feel sick or not...does that mean I can play the Wii before school?"
Yeah...I just shot him the look...you know the one...the look that says, "Really?  You really think that's going to work?"
He turned dejectedly and went back downstairs to get ready for school.
Is this the point where I start saying "I wasn't born yesterday"

And the winners are...Mario and Luigi!!!

Yesterday our little village held a Halloween party for all the residents.  We had a lot of fun going trick-or-treating throughout the village and the boys had people stopping them to get their pictures because they loved their Mario and Luigi costumes!  The boys were so funny!  They stayed in character the whole time, talking in really bad Italian accents and walking, running, and jumping like Mario and Luigi!!
There was a costume contest and the boys had to walk around the park in a parade where judges were set up in various locations to look at all the costumes.  Aiden and Cason held hands the entire way it was soooo adorable....even the judges thought so because they won first place in the Halloween Costume Contest!
Afterward, at the houses we stopped at, Aiden told the people handing out candy that he won and he'd be in the paper...lol!!!  He even told me he would give me his autograph!  How lucky am  I??!!

Would you like your coffee cake decaf?

My dear husband made us coffee cake last night and this morning while the boys were eating it, Aiden said, "You know this is made out of coffee, right, Cason? Mmmm coffee is so good!"
I was making their lunches at the counter and I said, "No, Aiden, it isn't actually made out of coffee, when people drink coffee they have coffee cake."
I had my back to them, so I didn't actually see what Cason did...(I heard Aiden telling him to stop trying to drink his coffee cake) but I heard what he said, which was: "Wow, I don't know how they do that, cause I can't drink it...how do they drink it, Mom?"
I then had to clarify that you drink the coffee and eat the coffee cake....

Zombies...

Aiden was showing off the eyeball ring that he got from his school party and a debate started about whether or not it was the eyeball of a skeleton or a zombie.  Cason said, "it can't be from a skeleton, they're just bones...it has to be from a zombie...they're...well...what are zombies, mom?"
Lovely.
So Aiden pipes up, "they're dead people."
Cason kind of looked at me in shock so I assured him that zombies are pretend.  "There are no such things as zombies." I told him, "When we die we go to Heaven; we don't start walking around as zombies."
Then Aiden says, "Yeah, and Heaven is where we all get our super powers!"
*Face palm* Oh, boy....

That's It!

While Grayson was playing quietly in his room this morning his brothers were being far more...rambunctious.  Perturbed, Grayson went parental on his brothers and hanging over the gate yelled down the stairs, "Aiden and Cason calm down...no more games!" He paused a moment, listening to the boys as they completely ignored him and then he yelled down again, "Boys, I mean it...no more toys!"  After another pause and his brothers still ignoring him he yelled down, "That's it!  No more Grandma...neber, eber!"

Well, at least we know that neber, eber getting to play with Grandma, at least in Grayson's eyes, is a much more severe punishment than losing video games and toys!

An Oldie but a Goodie

Aiden: Mom can I play the DS?
Me: No, Aiden, I've told you already, no video games until after dinner.
Aiden: Yeah, but I thought you gave me the wrong answer last time I asked.

Welcome!

Hi everyone!  This is obviously my first blog post...so there is nothing here yet, but I hope to fill this blog with silly stories and pictures of my boys who are six, five, and two.  This blog is being created mostly for the benefit of my mom, who is sadly Facebook illiterate.  I'm hoping what she doesn't get to see there, she can somehow figure out how to see here!
So...thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave (clean) comments...and hopefully you'll get a few laughs!!
